A Story For Parents

A few years ago, my son was shopping for a College or University that would be right for him. He wanted to major in Computer Science. We were visiting a well-known University, with a renowned Computer Science Department. So we stopped in to talk with a Professor there.

So I asked this Professor a question, "What do students do with a degree in Computer Science?" And his answer was - and I'm not kidding you - "I don't have any idea." As you travel around to various schools, this is a good question to ask.

The sequel to my story: My son liked this University. He enrolled there, and after one semester decided that Computer Science was not for him. How his world would have been different if he'd gone to a school that had a clear vision of how to prepare students and how to work personally with students!!
