The Job Market
Let Mathematics or Computer Science become the focus of your
studies if you enjoy the beauty and the challenge of those subjects.
Here's why we think that a Clark education makes you impervious to
economic conditions and "Outsourcing".
There are always jobs for well qualified mathematics and computer science majors.
No matter what the economic news is today, there is no way to
predict the business cycle four years from now. The government
forecasts continue to predict tremendous demands for computer science
and mathematics jobs. It will be a very different market when you graduate in four years.
Jobs requiring communication and analytical skills are less
likely to be outsourced as such jobs contribute to the "intellectual capital"
of our nation. A liberal arts education that combines quantitative skills
and computer literacy with the ability to write and communicate provides
important qualifications for jobs that cannot be sent overseas.
Our course variety, First Year Research Groups, Honors Projects,
and Internships are an excellent start to a hands-on career.
When it comes time for a job interview, you will be well
qualified and you will know what to say.
