Note that Henry B. Hoff’s article “A Hobart Puzzle in Massachusetts and Long Island” in New England Ancestors 1 (2000): 23, shows the Boston birth record that states Bethiah, born 5 Oct 1672, daughter of Josiah & Mary Hobart, should read daughter of Joshua & Mary Hobart. Joshua was Josiah’s older brother.

Josiah married Priscilla [Hobart].

On 27 Jun 1664 when Bathsheba was 23, she first married John Leavitt, son of Dea. John Leavitt (ca 1608-20 Nov 1691) & Mary [Leavitt] (-4 Jul 1646), in Hingham, MA.50 Born ca 1637 in Dorchester, MA. John died bef 1674.

On 19 Nov 1674 when Bathsheba was 34, she second married Dea. Joseph Turner (9107) , son of John Turner Sr. (3261) (ca 1621-aft 20 May 1697) & Mary Brewster (4416) (16 Apr 1627-aft 23 Mar 1698), in Hingham, MA.50 Born on 12 Jan 1649/50 in Scituate, MA.73,66 Joseph died in Scituate, MA, on 13 Feb 1724; he was 74.73 Buried in Second Church Cem., Norwell. Joseph Turner built his home on the northeast section of 20 acres of his father’s farm.47

Israel “removed to Scit. soon after 1676, when, on Apr. 20th of that yr. his house in Hing. was burned by the Indians.”50

“Israel Hobart, shipwright, son of Rev. Peter Hobart of Hingham, (born 1642, died 1731, aged eighty-nine), came into Scituate 1676. His house at Hingham had been burnt by the Indians in the spring of that year. He settled here on the North river, at the well known place, since called Hobart’s landing. His house stood near the ship-yard: it is remembered by some of our oldest inhabitants, as a spacious mansion, adorned with two carved cherubs over the door.”56

Born on 9 Jun 1652 in Dedham, MA.181 Sary, the Daughter of John & Sary Aldis, was borne the 9 of the 4 mo. 1652. Sarah died in Groton, MA, on 14 Apr 1712; she was 59.
