William, of Roxbury, came 1632, as a servant probably in the Lion, freeman 14 May 1634, m. Phillis, d. of Richard Lyman, removed to Hartford, had 2d wife widow Mary Steele, d. of Andrew Warner of Hadley; and there d. July 1683; in his will names ch. William; John; Joseph, bapt. 17 Mar. 1650; Benjamin; Jonathan; Hannah Kilburn, w. of Thomas; Susanna Kilburn, w. of John; Sarah Ward; and Mary Hills. Of two of the s. we kn. little; Benjamin liv. and d. at Hartford; Joseph sett. perhaps at Glastonbury. Always this fam. employ. final s.2

ca 1640 Richard married Hepzibah Ford (4443) , daughter of Thomas Ford (1227) (ca 1589-28 Nov 1676) & Elizabeth Charde (1589-16 Apr 1643), in Windsor, CT. Born ca 1625 in Dorchester, Dorsetshire. Hepzibah was baptized in Holy Trinity Church, Dorchester, on 15 May 1625.5 Hepzibah died on 11 Apr 1683 in Northampton, MA.

Sarah came to New England in 1631 with family.5

Sarah accused Mary Parsons of witchcraft in the death of Sarah’s daughter, Mary, wife of Samuel Bartlett of Northampton 1674.

On 6 Jun 1642 Sarah married James Bridgeman in Springfield, MA. Born ca 1620 in Winchester, Hants, Eng. James died in Mar 1676 in Northampton, MA.

6195. Lieut. John Lyman. Born ca Sep 1623 in High Ongar, Essex. John was baptized in High Ongar, Essex, on 16 Sep 1623. John died on 20 Aug 1690 in Northampton, MA.2

John came on the Lion with his father. After the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth, John and Dorcas removed ot Northampton.2 John was in command of the Northampton soldiers in the Falls fight above Deerfield, 18 May 1676. The American House, which was burned about 1870, stood in fronto f his house lot.39

On 12 Jan 1654/5 John married Dorcas Plumb (6922) , daughter of John Plumb (1912) (28 Jul 1594-Jul 1648) & Dorothy Wood (ca 1596-aft 1669), in Branford, CT.70 Born ca 1635 in Wethersfield, CT.70 Dorcas died on 21 Apr 1725 in Northampton, MA.

6196. Robert Lyman. Born in Sep 1629 in High Ongar, Essex.5 Robert died ca 1690 in Northampton, MA.

Robert was freeman 1684. He lived his last ten years in ‘distracted condition,’ giving time solely to fishing or hunting, and perished as tradition goes, on a hill in Northampton still named Robert’s hiss, but the date of death is not found on record.2

On 5 Nov 1662 Robert married Hepzibah Bascom, daughter of Thomas Bascom (-9 May 1682) & Avis [Bascom] (-ca 1676), in Northampton, MA.39 Born ca 1644 in Windsor, CT. Hepzibah was baptized in Windsor, CT, on 14 Apr 1644.144 Hepzibah died on 20 Sep 1690 in Northampton, MA.
