Nathaniel was of Stow, MA. “He was the owner of a considerable amount of land by inheritance, purchase, and town division. His ‘home farm’ in the southwesterly section of Stow exceeded 700 acres, and his interests extended to Lancaster and other towns. He was selectman fourteen years, grand juryman two years, town treasurer 1716 to 1718, and a deacon of the church.”272
Nathaniel married Elizabeth Ward (9373) , daughter of Capt. Samuel Ward (3313) (24 Sep 1641-15 Nov 1729) & Sarah Howe (25 Sep 1644-11 Aug 1707). Born on 21 Mar 1672 in Marlboro, MA.272 Elizabeth died on 5 Nov 1748; she was 76.272

iii. Shadrach, b. 6 Nov 1704 at Stow, d. 8 Oct 1782 at Harvard, MA, ca. 1732 Elizabeth Wetherbee (b. 1714, d. 30 Nov 1808 at Harvard), resided on a farm in Stow and Lancaster which became part of Harvard in 1732;
iv. Daniel, b. ca. 1703, d. 30 Apr 1791, Dea., m. 1st ca. 1732 Hepsebeth (b. 14 Jul 1715, d. 23 oct 1738), m. 2nd 6 Jul 1745 Mary Gibson, resided at Stow;
v. Elizabeth, b. 1708, m. Phineas Gates (who m. 2nd her sister Sarah); and
vi. Sarah, b. 1710, m. Phineas Gates (her sister’s widower).272
9079. Sarah Hapgood. Born in 1667. Sarah died aft 1735.
Children of Jonathan and Sarah: Mary 1689, Elizabeth 1691, Sarah 1693, Isaac 1694, Tabitha 1696 (m. George Parkhurst), Shadrach 1698, James 1698, Jonathan 1700, Anna 1702, Amos 1705, Zaccheus 1707, Timothy 1709, and Daniel 1710.
On 10 Apr 1688 Sarah married Jonathan Whitney (7905) , son of Jonathan Whitney (1634-ca 1702) & Lydia Jones (2969) (1632-3 Feb 1701/2), in Sherborn, MA. Born on 20 Oct 1658 in Watertown, MA.35 Jonathan died in Concord, MA, on 17 Mar 1734/5; he was 76.

On 10 Apr 1688 when Mary was 20, she married John Whitney (7907) , son of Jonathan Whitney (1634-ca 1702) & Lydia Jones (2969) (1632-3 Feb 1701/2).379 Born on 27 Jun 1662 in Watertown, MA.35 John died in 1731.379
