12338. Hannah Dickinson. Born on 6 Dec 1648 in Wethersfield, CT.167 Hannah died ca 1705 in Brookfield, MA.295

Hannah’s father and first husband Samuel died in the Turner’s Falls battle of 1676. Four months after her marriage to Stephen in 1677, she was captured by the Indians and carried off with two of her Gillett children to Canada. She escaped the next year In 1708, her son Joseph Gillet was wounded and her daughter’s husband killed, and in 1710, her husband Samuel was killed by Indians.168 167

On 23 Sep 1668 when Hannah was 19, she first married Samuel Gillett, son of Jonathan Gillett (ca 1609-23 Aug 1677) & Mary Dolbiar (ca 1607-5 Jan 1685[/6]), in Hadley, MA.168 Born ca 1642/3 in Windsor, CT. Samuel was baptized in Windsor, CT, on 22 Jan 1642/3.5 Samuel died on 9 May 1676 in Turners Falls, MA.168

Samuel settled in Hatfield and was slain in the Fall’s fight along with his father-in-law, John Dickinson.168

On 15 May 1677 when Hannah was 28, she second married Stephen Jennings in Hadley, MA.168 Stephen died on 22 Jul 1710 in Brookfield, MA.

Stephen, freeman 1690, came to Hatfield from Brookfield, and later returned to Brookfield. Either Stephen, or his son Stephen, was slain by the Indians July 20, 1710.168

ca 1674 Mary married Samuel Northam (1812) , son of James Northam (535) (-bef 1662), in Hatfield, MA.39 Born ca 1650.39 Samuel died on 12 Nov 1726 in Colchester, CT.222 Occupation: carpenter.168

Samuel is the only known child of James Northam. Samuel removed from Hartford to Hadley, thence about 1686 to Deerfield, and before 1709 to Colchester. He was a townsman of Colchester, elected 13 Dec 1709.39

On 21 Jan 1688 John second married Susannah Smith, daughter of Joseph Smith (ca 1630-ca 1689/90) & Lydia Hewitt (ca 1635-3 Mar 1712), in Wethersfield, CT. Born in Jun 1667 in Hartford, CT.295

Martin resided at Hatfield, Deerfield, and suffield. He was captured with four of his children in French and Indian destruction of Deerfield on 19 Feb 1704 and taken to Canada. His son Jonathan was killed in the raid.

James and William Craft in their Crafts Family genealogy161 argue that Thomas Crafts of Hadley, MA was the first child of John and Rebecca, born about 1656.

Thomas and Abigail lived at Hadley where he had grants of land from the town.161

Joseph came to Hadley as a soldier in 1676 and removed before 1700 to Hatfield, and before 1709 to Colchester, CT.168
