John and Mary were second cousins; his grandfather Samuel Hickock and her grandfather Joseph Hickock were brothers.

On 18 Nov 1719 when Mary was 18, she married John Hickock (14629) , son of Samuel Hickock (5283) (ca 1668-3 Jun 1713) & Elizabeth Plumb (22632) (1 Nov 1669-17 Oct 1749), in Waterbury, CT.³²⁸ Born on 18 Nov 1696 in Waterbury, CT.³²⁸ At the age of <1, John was baptized in Milford, CT, on 20 Dec 1696.¹⁶ John died in Bristol, CT, on 14 Feb 1765; he was 68. Buried in Episcopal Cem., Bristol, CT.⁷⁰

John moved from Durham to Wallingford, Meridan, then to New Cambridge (now Bristol). He was a congregationalist while in Bristol, but became Episcopalian.
Agreement of the heirs of John Kickox on 3 Sep or 26 Aug 1765 was signed by Mary, the widow, and the children. Will in Woodbury.⁷⁰

ca 1727 Thankful first married Joseph Plumb (22638) , son of John Plumb (10451) (1646-Mar 1728) & Elizabeth Norton (35075) (ca 1645-1709).⁶⁸ Born ca 1683 in Milford, CT.³⁰ Joseph died on 27 May 1742 in Milford, CT.³⁰ Buried in Old Graveyard, Milford.

After Joseph married his second wife he removed to Wallingford. His will mentions the children of his second wife by name with ages and he states that he has already given to the children of his first wife, but does not name them.⁶⁸
