On 21 Sep 1738 when Phebe was 33, she married Jonathan Strickland, son of Benjamin Strickland (1 Mar 1682/3-1 Jan 1778) & Elizabeth Loveland (say 1686-May 1773), in Glastonbury, CT. Born on 5 May 1711 in Glastonbury, CT.167 Jonathan died on 10 Sep 1760; he was 49.

John “took the freeman's oath at Hebron 11 April 1748, and was a highway surveyor for the year 1765. In his will dated 1 April 1773, he named his wife Comfort, sons John, Elijah and Josiah, and daughter Phebe Post, and appointed his brother Jordan and Jordan Post, Jr., executors (Colchester Dist. Probate, File 2464). Jordan Post was guardian to John and Elijah, and Comfort to Josiah (ibid., 2457, 2565, 2567). On 23 May 1788 Jordan Post, Jr., deeded 55 acres from the estate to John Post ‘excepting widow's thirds,’ Elijah Post deeded him 22 acres from the estate 7 June 1790, and Josiah Post deeded him 19 acres from the estate 14 March 1791 (Hebron Deeds,10:63, 66, 211).”337
On 8 May 1760 when John was 36, he first married Catherine Northam (17078) , daughter of John Northam (6525) (1690/95-1740) & Hannah Pomeroy (17830) (22 Apr 1698-), in Hebron, CT.286 Born on 13 Apr 1733 in Colchester, CT.222 Catherine died in Hebron, CT, on 3 Oct 1766; she was 33.286
